William Shatner? That’s William Shatner! No, I didn’t see him in person; he was on the cover of a magazine, but not just any magazine. The mag was Cigar Aficionado. I wasn’t looking for the mag but it caught my eye because the photo of Mr. Shatner is such a great one. So I wanted to examine his face here, but I knew – just knew that you wouldn’t run to your favorite news stand to buy a magazine about cigars. I wouldn’t either. However I wanted you to be able to see the photo, so I looked up Cigar Aficionado magazine on the internet and found their site, (www.cigaraficionado.com), and thought that you could see the cover photo there. Wrong. Actually the cover image is there, but way too small. But what’s this? In the back issue section there is an image of each back issue cover. Each cover has a photo of a celebrity and the thing that stood out to me was the angled eyebrows. They all have angled eyebrows! (Well, almost all.) If you go to the site, click on “Back Issues” on the menu on the left, (down towards the bottom). When you get to the back issues you can click on each issue and get a larger image.
What do angled eyebrows signify? Well - a personality that has a well defined set of standards that won’t be denied. If a situation arises that doesn’t meet these standards, expect the owner of angled eyebrows to take steps to change the situation. Angled eyebrows won’t waste their time with situations that, (to them), are meaningless. Further, angled eyebrows won’t hesitate to engage in conflict if necessary. Deeply angled eyebrows can actually enjoy conflict because, to them, conflict is a marker for being alive. Where would a person with this type of personality excel? Competition, and does any celebrity rise to the top without being competitive? Probably not, although a few of the celebrities on these covers had straight eyebrows, (ideas and concepts) or curved eyebrows, (emphasis on emotions).
Here’s a list of the angled eyebrow celebrities:
Camilo Villegas
Kurt Russell
Vegas showgirl – I don’t know her name, but she had angled eyebrows. There’s competition for this job, also.
Kiefer Sutherland
Antonio Benderas
Emeril
Jimmy Smits
Morgan Freeman
Bill Murray
Sharon Stone
Alec Baldwin
Tyson vs. King
General Tommy Franks
Francis Ford Coppola
Steve Wynn
Winston Churchill
Don Johnson
Jeff Bridges
Raquel Welch
Kevin Costner
Gene Hackman
Bo Derek
Kevin Bacon
JP Morgan
Sylvester Stallone
Denzel Washington
Here’s the few with other types of eyebrows:
Michael Jordan curved
Andy Garcia straight with some curve
Kevin Spacey straight with some curve
Rudolph Guiliani curve
Dennis Hopper straight
Pierce Brosnan straight
There you have it - twenty seven celebrities with angled eyebrows and 6 with other types of eyebrows. (I didn’t count the showgirl, but I guess you could.) The message is clear. If you want to rise to top in your profession, know where you are going and be ready to compete. Also, if you’re in a position to pick someone to fill a leadership role, and all things being equal, you’re probably better off picking the angled eyebrow.
By the way, William Shatner has straight eyebrows, (ideas and concepts), which were, (for him), perfect to stretch into the role of a starship commander.
